This monograph consists of seven chapters united under the common goal of underlining some key fields of the contemporary preschool education in Bulgaria, in accordance with the author’s perception and experience. Each chapter is based on the author’s research; the first and fifth chapters rely on researching literature sources and/or official statistical data, while for the rest of the publication the scientific analysis and conclusions are based on application of various research methods – analysis of essays by students in Bulgaria (chapter 2), psychological-pedagogical experiment in Bulgarian kindergartens (chapters 3 and 6), long-term pedagogical observations of the author in Bulgarian preschool educational institutions in the country (chapter 4) and abroad (chapter 7). Prof. Rozalina Engels-Kritidis, DSc. is a lecturer at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, leading academic courses on several disciplines: Basis and theory of preschool education, Research methods in preschool education, Language acquisition and speech development in early years, Intercultural competence of teachers, Child in the allegory world of proverbs and sayings, and others. She has been a visiting scholar and/or a lecturer at a number of universities and institutions across Europe, including University of Cambridge (UK), Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford (UK), National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), University of Patras (Greece), Central European University in Budapest (Hungary), Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), Municipality of Sundsvall in Sweden, and German Youth Institute in Munich (Germany). She is an active member of OMEP Bulgaria.
