About the Journal
The Annual of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski is a traditional scientific periodical of the Sofia University for scientific studies. Each faculty has its own annual, devoted to its specific topics. The Annual is published both as printed and electronic version with ISSN in a single design, approved by the university press. Accepted for publication in the Annual are original research studies (in Bulgarian and English), for which the author declares they have not been published elsewhere, including under another title. There is no fee for the authors.
History
The Annual of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski has been published since 1904, the 16th anniversary after establishment of the University in 1888 as the first university in Bulgaria. It is the first Bulgarian scientific journal.
The Annual of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts (FESA) had several modifications of the title due to changes of the name of the Faculty in the course of the years:
- Annual of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts with ISSN 2682-9622, published in 2019.;
- Annual of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty of Primary and Pre-School Education with ISSN 0861-8216 (print), published during the period 1993-2018;
- Annual of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty for Kindergarten and Primary School Teachers with ISSN C625-8891, published during the period 19841992.
Since 2020 with decision of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts the Annual is divided in two books – Annual of Educational Studies and Annual of Arts. In compliance with the decisions of the Academic Council of the Sofia University since 2020 the Annual Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts has implemented the blind peer-review system.
Scope of the Annual
The Annual of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts (FESA), Annual of Educational Studies, invites national and international authors who have publications, devoted to theoretical and practical issues in the field of educational studies. A unique focus of the publication are the state-of-art research and discussions. The thematic scope of the Annual comprises problems of the primary school education, preschool education, social pedagogy, special education, media pedagogy, higher education. The Annual gives room also for innovative research in particular areas of educational studies. In addition, book reviews are also published in the Annual.
The yearbook aims to provide a forum for scientists from Sofia university and other Bulgarian universities. It is also open to researchers from the Balkan region aand also to scientists from other foreign universities.
