Abstract

Storytelling has been the natural medium for the transfer of knowledge from one generation to another over the centuries. In the 21-st century storytelling meets the ever-changing technologies and adapts to a digital storytelling mode the pedagogical perspectives of which may at times be questionable in terms of value and potential, yet its presence as an educational strategy has increasingly become an integral part of contemporary educational orientation.

The present article describes the features of the digital story, the way in which it is interwoven into the learning process and the manner in which it benefits the development of those digital skills and competences that are set in the European Digital Competence Framework.
