Abstract

This article traces different options for the development of creative skills with students from pedagogical specialties by using collage techniques, and the impact of those techniques on the formation of positive attitudes towards various aspects of creative thinking. We argue that those competences are a strong base for students’ successful future pedagogical work with pre-school groups of children. The article reflects numerous research activities carried out by its author and takes into consideration all the results observed, related to the application of collage as an essential part of modern art. The provocative functions of collage allow for an in-depth interpretation, especially when it comes to the ways children use it in their art activities, part of their kindergarten curriculum. And it is those functions that get in the focus of the research program discussed in this article. Another significant part of the paper is the formation of creativity skills by means of using the collage technique in the interpretation of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. The results of the study reflect the author’s observation related to the entire dynamics of the research process, analyzing the good practices of collage application, with both children and students, and outline research questions for future publications.
