Abstract

The present article is focused on the manifestations of postmodernity in contemporary textile art and outlines the postmodern trends (reflected to a different degree and materialized in a different manner) in the art of five distinguished Bulgarian women artists in the sphere of contemporary textile art – namely, Tsetsa Georgieva, Emiliya Panayotova, Maria Kirkova, Margarita Dopcheva and Mariyana Rainova.

  • Laura Dimitrova, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski

    Laura Dimitrova is a Doctor of Science and holds the academic rank of Professor at the Visual Arts department (at the Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”). She teaches Decorative Arts and Combination Techniques, Theory of the Artistic Image, Stylization and Ornament. Her professional interests include contemporary art – a sphere which she is engaged in both as an artist and as an researcher. She has participated in many art symposia and projects and she has exhibited her works at numerous solo and group exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad.
