Abstract

The article attempts to summarize the results of research that indicate the possibility of non-normative manifestations in the functioning of oral language in upper preschool age to be a reliable predictor with prognostic value for future difficulties in mastering written language. A study of the oral language of 100 children aged 6-7 years shows the leading predictive role of expressive language deficit. The prospective assessment of language development and the recognition of predictors indicating future difficulties in literacy at pre-school age are necessary conditions for prevention, timely therapy and reduction of the manifestations of specific disorders of written language and learning.
