This book presents the essence of the doctoral dissertations of Ioanna Stathopoulou, Eugenia Filippou, and Dimitra Baila, which were supervised by Prof. Rozalina Engels-Kritidis, D.Sc. during the period 2015-2018 and successfully defended in 2019. Each of these dissertations represents its own contribution to the preschool pedagogy field by developing pedagogical techniques for preschool age children in different areas of educational content (mathematics, environment and literature) which, in the context of the domestic life, public kindergartens, or the first class of primary school, sets its own parallel focus on a specific group of children with special educational needs. The main common thread in the three dissertations’ contributions is the approach to the subject matter mainly in the aspect of looking for common elements, rather than differences, between children with special educational needs and children with typical development – an approach that is completely within the spirit of modern conceptual understanding of inclusive education.
