Abstract

In retrospect, a number of brilliant examples of the interpenetration of science, art and technology are revealed. Thus formulated topic – “Digital imaging – photography and print. Possibilities for image manipulation, changes and novelties in the field of collage and editing photographic techniques during the second half of the 20th century”, deals with an essential stage of the development of visual arts and aims to confirm the autonomous nature of photography as art and to establish photography as a form of contemporary art in particular. The topic is especially relevant due to the technological progress and mass introduction of digital technologies into the life of present day humans. As a result, a natural need arises to process this situation through new manifestations in art and photography and theoretically afterward. The founding idea of the exhibition is the deep conviction that due to digital technologies photography finds a wider range of expression, which is difficult to describe briefly. Therefore, the aim should be to focus on a specific issue, in the present study – the potential for manipulation of digital media, and the various collage and editing techniques in photography of the second half of the 20th century in particular.
